I strongly believe we forgot something very important when we had that little debate about there being two KITTs floating around. After reading the KR wiki for both KITTs that we forgot to take into account of the Knight Rider 2000 movie. No, it's not a popular one, but a LOT happened to KI2T in that movie. However, many think that TKR and KR2000 was disregarded in KR08. Regardless, we need to reconfigure exactly what happened, and I would like to at least consider what happened in KR2000! Whether or not KR2000 is considered, up to some year or so prior to the 08 series, KI2T STILL existed, but did in fact go offline.
As quoted on KI2T's wiki:
"Unlike KARR, KITT is programmed primarily to protect Michael and all human life at all costs. This is made clear in the pilot episode when Michael asks Devon Miles if KITT will protect anyone driving it. Devon's answer is that KITT's primary function is the preservation of human life, and Michael's in particular.
Dismantled & Reborn:
In the events of Knight Rider 2000, KITT has been dismantled and parts sold off to medical research companies. His AI system was recovered by Micheal and was installed in the dashboard of his 1957Chevy Bel-Air. KITT's A.I. was later transferred by Micheal into the Knight 4000 and promptly serve FLAG as the "new" KITT. "
The reason I bring this up is because I was talking this over with White, and she reminded me that the reason it's possible KI3T is the only model around these days is because of how they introduce KI3T with a few pans through the garage in Graiman's home. "the camera pans down. You see a plastic (black) box with the words Knight Industries 2000, then the camera continues on, shows another box, identical to the first but with the words Knight Industries 3000, then the camera points up to something under a sheet. It is revealed that what's under the sheet is KI3T." KI2T's parts were in that garage, therefore KI2T no longer exists in his own figure, and neither does KI4T, for reasons which will be examined shortly.
It can be seen from this exact footage that my reasoning was correct, that KI3T was refurbished (So to speak from the KI2T)-now, they're unclear about what happened to KI4T after Knight Rider 2000. I think the footage in Graiman's garage makes it somewhat clear as to what really happened to KI2T after Knight Rider Two Thousand. Of course, they went down in the order of the numbers: KI2T, KI4T (short lived), back to KI2T, and now to KI3T. It's possible that until Graiman came along, KI2T in KI4T's (or possibly as the transAm again) ended up being a temporary test model that was tested until the SSC was formed. Which based upon my discussions with Katt and White, is totally possible. KI2T was put into KI4T's form before KI2T went off line.
So, KI2T would have existed up until a couple years prior to 2008. Perhaps 2005, or as late as 2007. KI2T did technically go offline at one point after he was programmed into KI4T.
I believe it is possible that Graiman was able to program fragments of KI2T's conscience into KI3T, making various aspects of his personality (such as humor) into his processor, which is why KI3T can sometimes seem similar to KI2T. Yes, KI3T's bio will be updated to correspond to these updates.[/color]
